If you happen to be interested in both Buddhism and anglo-american/analytic philosophy, then here’s a kind of an interesting thing I hadn’t run across before. Daniel Dennet makes a little presentation of the main
points invoked by his book Breaking the Spell, and that “bright” movement that attends everything he does these days, and Robert Thurman quizzes him about what a scientific investigation of religion should look like, and how complete a lense is evolutionary biology. The center for buddhist studies at Columbia Uni, links to both text and audio of the discussion. If you know both of these guys,
it’s a great discussion…and anyway if you know one or neither.
