Here’s an oldish but very goodish interview with the philosopher Galen Strawson.
Strawson argues that we don’t have free-will (or moral responsibility) in the “buck stopping” sense we ordinarily believe we do, and traces out the consequences of that situation. He’s real smart and insightful!

God, wouldn’t wanna be stuck on an elevator with these geezers for any amount of time… As much as I appreciate the cake or charity examples they seem a little more binary than I’d expect from a philosophical discussion… My understanding of Strawson’s point is not satisfied, although I may just be too tired to comprehend, or too unlearned, or willfully denying understanding from taking root… Probably a combination of all three and more but I’m just going to blame him for wandering off topic so many times and citing old term-papers instead…
Glad to see you back… Found a good doorway to squat in?
